.::friday, june 23::.

After a comfy night on IHL creator Jamie Hatton's waterbed (rather, his lovely fiancee's mom's waterbed - long story), I hiked to the train station in Jersey Friday morning to start my Big Apple Con weekend.

Looka that face! That's the face of a birthday girl if I've ever seen one.

First stop Friday night was the house of my pal Aimee. I was so excited to see a Ghostbusters-style sunset (much like the orb of ghosts that hovered over NYC in the movies... such, SUCH a nerd!) on my way to her place in the Bronx. That's the BRONX, which, for those of us who are from West Virginia and don't know any better, is NOT short for "Brooklyn." Yeesh. (Tease me at will, I've earned it.)

Aimee's dad, reeling out some good old-fashioned dad-style one-liners. And the food. Mmmmmmm. (Aimee's sis is chillin out in the background.)

I felt like it was more MY birthday than hers when Aimee proudly showed me her wall of original comics pages - many of which were mine!

She's got a page of Crazy Papers in the center there, and two GWS strips (plus a commission I did for her, whch is kinda cut off) above it. I was totally flattered.

After the party I went took the train back to the hotel for some healthy sleep, and woke up to...
