.::sunday, july 2::.
This is "Blank" Jones, as I've decided to call him (he changes his first name on a semi-regular basis, it seems, and I always forget which one he's using now), and his robot Dr. Kranium (I think?!). Jonesy actually stopped by Friday and I made a joke about not being able to see the table I was drawing on (I'm SHORT!!). He joked that he'd bring phone books the next day. AND GUESS WHAT!! He brought two phone books Saturday morning!! God I love that man!! Things were way easier from then on out. Anyway, a little plug - Jones is the owner and operator of Jigsaw, a kick-ass comics store that used to be in NYC. He's since relocated to North Carolina, and the store is finally open. Check it out! (The JigsawTV episode he filmed at Heroes Con - starring his buddy the robot - should be at the far right. And I'm in it! Enjoy.)
These guys are obviously nothing but trouble. That's Mike Fogg at far right, his lovely wife Heather in the middle, and their buddy Laura (sp?). Fogg and his entourage keep me fed and clothed through commission and original art purchases. If you like me the way I am - alive - thank him the next time you see him.
The nearby Tex-Mex restaurant had the best guacamole in the world, so I lunched there almost every day. I loved the garden ornaments!
This guy - whose name I OF COURSE forgot - was so nice to me and Liz all weekend! If one of us so much as mentioned "water" or "thirsty," we'd hear a "WHOOSH!" and in about ten minutes there would be two waters at our tables. Southern hospitality, indeed! Thanks, guy!
A little Catwoman action...
"Heroes or Heroines in Suits" theme...
Zatanna playing hypnotist for a day...
Punk rock Hazel and Jamie (OYE!!)...
And another shot of Zatanna for a very kind and patient man who encouraged me all weekend. :) I said good-bye to Liz and Jennie and every other beautiful & talented person I knew at the show, and stayed the night with my aunt and uncle that night. The next morning I woke up late, must have eaten four bowls of white rice (my relatives were prepared for the massive amount of foods I can't eat - they had lots rice!). Then I was in the car again, driving through beautiful backwoods North Carolina... |
