Color! |
|
.::friday, june 30 - saturday, july 1::.
My pal Jason commissioned a color piece from me while I was in New York for the Big Apple Con, so I had something to work on the moment I got to Heroes Con. And I'm DEFINITELY bringing markers with me to more conventions! I loved doing color this weekend! At around 5:00, I scurried off to a nearby room to do a panel on webcomics.
The crowd was amiable and let me photograph them during the panel.
As did my fellow panelists. Yes, that's Miss Jennie Breeden of The Devil's Panties. Hotness!
I don't remember the names of any of the other people. I know, I'm an awful panelist.
I think I remember this one, though. Denise Cro... Crosetti? Of Girls In Springloaded Catapults? Something like that.
I stayed with Liz the Great Greenfield at her friends' place for the weekend. This plant struck me as extremely lonely. I didn't mock it, but I did photograph it to capture its misery on film.
This was the only photograph I took at the bar that night. Yeah, I should probably work on photographing actual PEOPLE. But I assure you there were other people there. I wasn't drinking alone. In the dark. Crying into my vodka & cranberry juice.
On to happier things, this guy did some awesome 3D fanart for me and Jennie! CHECK IT OUT!! That's a very happy cactus. And I totally loved his shirt. I'm getting one for Candy the Carnivore - shh.
Get it? Heh. Lesbian jokes... yay. And the most awesome costume ever.
Since I didn't get a decent shot of Liz, this'll give you an idea of what she looks like. I'm not sure what this character's name is, but I was asked to draw a cute redhead in a swashbuckler's hat. Right on.
He had a mermaid/underwater theme.
Hooray for little girls who wanna be superheroines when they grow up!!
And hooray for big girls who have holes in their costumes to show off their cleavage!
Speaking of big girls... this delicate flower coulda killed me with one hand if I hadn't agreed to draw a dragonfly on her arm. She was awesome, but scary-tall. And by the end of the con, she was covered in little dragonflies.
Yee-haw, y'all. Thus ends day two at the convention. That night Liz and I headed to the house of some new friends to partake in their delicious home-cooked dinner... |
