.::friday, june 30::.
After yet another late-night drive, I found myself near Charlotte at about 11:30 Thursday night, hours late after three traffic jams, and I crashed at my cousin Jayson's place (after carefully disarming his house, which is wired to security perfection). The most I saw of my cousin was his elbow, which peeked out from under the sheets the next morning when I poked my head in to see if he was awake. Out like a light. Ah, well. I got to the convention early for once - and after having breakfast, even!
McPedro was thrilled to be seated between some of my favorite table neighbors ever!
Liz Greenfield of Stuff Sucks, was to my left. (Liz is very animated - this is the most in-focus picture I got of her all weekend! And yes, she's really that interested in what she's reading. Not.)
Peter Bagge, who gracefully passed the Bat Boy comic on to me, was to my right. Much to my surprise, he does not look ANYTHING like his main character from Hate.
Here's John Lucas, my buddy from NYC. His lovely girl Mindy was around all weekend too, but I never got around to photographing the two of them together.
Favorite. Fanboy. Ever. This is Gary Wayne. He's cooler than a mashed 'tater san'wich. And his last name is a first name, too. (Much like John Lucas.) Gary's from the heart o' West Virginia and is my permanent convention buddy. Anyway, enough of this "getting to know you" crap. Let's see some art! |
