.::friday, mar 4::.
Are me and my brother the ONLY ones who love flying almost as much as we love vacation?
'Cause I spent at least half of the flight from BWI to DFW (en route to Austin, Texas for Staple!) with my face pressed against the window, mouth agape, eyes wide as we soared over snow-covered fields, tall mountains, and winding rivers.
I only let my gaze draw back to my book when the overcast skies set in, and all I could see was grey.
That said, excuse me for a moment as I start this "travelogue" off with a few in-flight photos. |

(Okay, HERE'S where it starts!)
My friend Mike was kind enough to pick me up from the airport and tote me along for the long drive to Austin (about 4 hours). When I grabbed my stuff and took off for the doors, he warned me that I might want to put a jacket on; "It's chilly out." I braced myself for the "chilly," and unbraced when I realized that "chilly" to a Texan is 55 degrees!! "THIS is CHILLY?!!" "Well... yeah." "I'm moving to TEXAS!!" |

After a long drive, I got to take a long rest and recover from the, uh... one hour of jet-lag.
I just liked this sign; I didn't eat here my first night. But the place I DID end up eating at was fantastic, and I decided that I was moving to Austin immediately. I've never seen so many beautiful people in one restaurant. My GOD!! Afterwards, I got a looooong night of rest to prepare myself from the biggest tiny convention I'd ever been to... |
