Coloring Books for Pros

.::sunday, apr 24::. I was flattered to be asked by Rowan of the CBLDF to join in on Sunday's Quick Sketch. To my right, Ed Beard doing an incredible Sharpie-and-Crayola fantasy drawing...

... to my left, Tal Caldwell and... some other guy. Some other guy was really nice.

Ed Beard (far right) and... some other... guys. Chris Moreno is in blue. I need to get a new camera!

Okay, I know you can't see it very well, but... this was what I actually woke up to that morning. F'ing Christmas In April. It was 90 degrees last week, and I woke up to SNOW FLURRIES! I have no idea what this was all about, but I do know that the warmest thing I brought was one sweatshirt.

Among my favorite commissions that day, a color shot of Hazel and Jamie for one very nice and very patient man (he waited all weekend for this).

Did this one for a really nice guy named Gary from West Virginia. Notice Hazel's shirt :) He lives where the star is.

And finally, Mike White's Green Lantern sketch.

So on my way home, I had to drive through the mountains of Pennsylvania, which were unseasonably covered in snow. Don't believe me?

Check it out.

And for my next trick, here's a slew of sketches I did Saturday night and Sunday evening.

Not a very good resemblence of my pal, writer Lelan Estes, at the bottom there (although I got the horns right). The top drawing was an attempt to draw...

... Mitchell Breitweiser, a rather talented guy (I kept finding the handsome ones, conveniently). He drew this...

... in my sketchbook after I was assured that he could actually draw and wasn't screwing with me when he asked to draw in it.

Bill Ellis, the talented guy who did the GWS guest strips last week, challenged me to a sketch-off, which only lasted two people: Mike White and Bob Almond (respectively, top to bottom).

Dinner at Chili's, before I left to stare down the blizzard on my way home!

(That's it, folks! The camera was kept off for the majority of the trip because I was so busy drawing. Thank you, everyone who came by and kept me busy doing sketches or handing over original artwork or books! I loved meeting new folks along the way!)
