DRINK PARTAAAY!!!

Okay, just letting y'all know that we're trying SOME of the drinks tonight.

If there's no comic up Monday, it's because you KILLED ME with your fucking CRAZY-ASS DRINKS!! Let's hope half of Shepherdstown survives it, because there's only like 800 of us. Lord.

Drinks 'n' books.

First of all, thank you for not completely killing us, drink-submittors. The party was a blast, a success, and most importantly, I got to write off $200 worth of liquor on my taxes. God bless this job.

Although, whoever submitted the Kick in the Classic is responsible for knocking two people on their asses (aka. my bathroom floor).

Believe it or not, we have to hold at least four more of these parties before we can announce winners. I'm gonna hold an alcoholic dessert party, an alcoholic coffee party, a meat-and-alcohol party (weird, but y'all are SWEARING by bacon vodka), and a final Slingshot party. Plus I have to test all of the NON-alcoholic drinks for Tyler and Maureen.

So yeah, I've already gained two pounds, in case you were wondering. I'm aiming for five by the end of August.

Anyway, guess what I found in my car? A pile of ten GWS books that had spent the last few months melting into one another. Thus, I have ten copies of GWS Volume One with crappy covers and perfectly good interiors. I will be selling these for a measly $5 plus shipping (only domestic this time, because I can't find my records for overseas shipping costs - sorry guys!). They will even be signed with a sketch. No joke! So here's what the best and worst books look like, left-to-right:

Basically, it just looks like the girls are either dancing in the snow, or it's nuclear wintertime. You choose.

But there are only ten! Get yer limited-edition zombified version of Girls With Slingshots Volume One today!

Updates, and your chance to save my sanity.

Boy howdy, we're having some seriously confusing problems here at GWS!

Many of you are reporting that you're not seeing the most recent strips as they're being updated. This is especially confusing because some people are seeing today's comic, while others are seeing yesterday's. I haven't encountered any problems from my desktop (PC running IE and Firefox, newest versions), nor from my iPhone (Safari).

Does anybody even know how this could be possible?

Basically I'd just like to know who to fire: my FTP client (FireFTP), my server (Speakeasy.net), or my webmaster (myself).

Unfortunately, the latter would be difficult to shit-can (she's emotional and may throw a fit), so I'm really hoping it's the first or second option.

If you know what's going on - and I mean REALLY know what's going on - please tell me before I throw myself off a building.

Thanks, web gurus! And in the meantime, if you've been missing any strips, maybe you'd like to check the updated archive page, complete with separated story arcs!

**QUICK EXTRA NOTE** I don't think this is a cache issue. Wednesday night, after I uploaded Thursday's comic, I checked the site and Thursday's comic was there. No tricks, just the correct page and comic strip. Later Thursday afternoon, I reloaded the page and sure as shit, Wednesday's comic was showing.

So the pages are loading, but they're actually reverting back to the previous day's HTML a few hours later. C'mon, now THAT is bizarre!

GWS Volume One, second edition!

Some of you may have already noticed a slight difference between the covers of the original GWS Volume One books and the new GWS Volume One books. That's because I've released a second edition of the first book with a... well, I guess you could call it a "variant cover." Now McPedro dons a lovely pair of pink panties on his head rather than the pair of tighty-whities he was sporting in the first edition.

With a new edition of the book out (including typo fixes and a brighter cover) and no conventions this month, I thought I'd offer signed & sketched book sales again. This time I'll be prepared to sign as soon as you order (I already have the books here) and you can even choose which character I draw for you!

After you click the button & sign into PayPal, you'll see a "Sign my book to/character (optional)" on the left: click on and add your name (or the name of the person you want it signed to) and the character you'd like me to sketch (just one character, please!).

The books will be $25 including shipping for domestic orders, $27 for Canadian orders, and $32 for overseas buyers. Just make sure you click on the correct button! Domestic's above, and Canadaian & international are below.

This may be the last time I offer signed & sketched Volume One books, so place your order before September if you want one!

Stuff!

Here's some quick stuff: a cool "lens" article on GWS! Thanks, Squidoo!

Here's some less quick stuff: New Yorkers, keep the last Sunday in August free! I may be holding the final GWS drink test that evening in an actual bar with an actual bartender, and you're invited!

It's just pending for now, but I thought I'd give a fast announcement early so y'all can keep the day free if you're in the area. Details coming soon!

Fallcon!

Just a quick note that I created a few sketch cards for this year's Fall Con if you'd like a peek! I believe they're selling some of these for charity, giving some away, etc. - you'll have to go to the con to find out, I guess!

Vids!

I've been pretty good about updating on time, and this week has been FILLED with saying good-byes to people I care about, so I hope you won't mind that I'm bagging the strip tonight in order to share a little bit of my life with you (something I haven't been doing a lot of lately).

Our fabulously talented, sweet, and fun pal Vanessa is leaving for NYC to complete grad school in web designy.... stuff (I'm not going to pretend to understand), so we held one last girls' night at my place after hitting our typical haunt, The Three Onions.

Included in the following videos are: my kitty Ellie, a bottle of champagne (sparkling wine?), and us foolishly trying some moves out of my breakdancing book from the 1980's... or whenever the hell people sported mustaches and sweatbands with pride.

Enjoy my life.

Zee Pulse

Heads up! Jen from The Pulse did a little interview with me last week to catch up on what I'm doing. Includes pics of the first GWS drinking party, too. Enjoy!
