Happy third year!
Bill Ellis, you were right. It's amazing how a brand-new Pentel fountain pen can make you fall in love with drawing again.
I didn't realize this until just last week, but today is Girls With Slingshots's THIRD BIRTHDAY!!!
So here's to many more years of GWS goodness! (Insert bubbly clink and chug here.)
Meanwhile, I have some things on the burner. How many of you guys would love to own a 3-piece GWS shotglass set?
Also, tomorrow you'll get a little surprise, because I'm getting two little surprises of my own this afternoon.
And whether you want to or not, you won't be able to escape them for the first several months that I have them.
So come back tomorrow for lots of cuteness!

Kitties!
Toldja. They are CUUUUUUUTE!!
This is Pumpkin (tentatively named), and Miss Smudge has been cat-napping all afternoon, so you'll catch a glimpse of her whenever she wakes up tomorrow.
Looks like she's already adopted my sleeping schedule. Heh.
I've been waiting for the perfect cat to fall into my lap for a long time; working from home has always been my dream, but it gets hella lonely sometimes.
Two months ago my pal Michael suddenly had a litter of kittens in his house, and when I went over to visit I simply couldn't leave without promising a home to one of them.
Well, that was the plan; after I saw them together, I couldn't leave without claiming two.
I've never had cats before and I've never been a cat person (though I've grown to love them), so any and all advice is welcome!
They're both girls and they're about 10 weeks old. And did I mention CUTE?!
oct.03.07
Cute overload.
I have a feeling I'm going to have to make a whole page for these two.
At least for now, the white & black one is named Pumpkin (though I'm debating on Ellie), and Miss Grey is named Smudge.
And yes, you may want to say your good-byes to Goldie. I have a feeling Smudge is going to find a way into that tank by the end of the week.

Button packages.
Sorry guys, I'm having a hard time writing the next one.
Meanwhile... I knew this was going to be a favorite spot.
Button buyers, if you're allergic to cats, might I suggest you not sniff the padded envelope your buttons arrive in?
That said, if you'd like to own the one Ellie* just drooled on, feel free to special-request it.
*That's right, Pumpkin has been officially re-named Ellie, short for Eleanore, my nana's name. Make note!

Killjoy Comics
I am a big fat jerk. I COMPLETELY forgot to send in a guest comic for one of the nicest guys in comics, Todd Swanson of Killjoy Comics.
Have you guys read this strip yet? It's about two little girls, Joy and Killjoy, and the strip's hilariously fun.
I'd like to congratulate Todd on reaching 100 strips this week (hence the guest strip celebration!).
If you'd like to get into Joy & Killjoy from the beginning, follow this link!

People other than me!
So first and foremost, tada!
I finally DID make a guest strip for Joy & Killjoy, which features some familiar faces (albeit younger than usual).
Enjoy!
Second, who's heading to SPX this weekend?
I'm kinda half-assing it because I think the table prices are too high, but my pal Rafer Roberts was kind enough to let me sit with him at his booth.
So if you're at SPX on FRIDAY, I'll be at the Plastic Farm booth from 2:00 to 6:00 doing $10 sketches and signing books!
Come by and get a sketch, get me to sign your Crazy Papers or Postcards book, and if he's still got them around, also pick up a Plastic Farm book which features one of my most repulsive and lesser-known pieces!
You'll have to read it to believe it. Or, to believe that I agreed to draw it. :)
Speaking of my repulsive colaboration with Rafer in Plastic Farm, Rafer's got a deal going now that if you e-mail him your mailing address, he'll send you a free copy of Plastic Farm.
(He's got at least a dozen issues out by now, if not more.) Now, there's a special GWS deal going; if you mention GWS in your e-mail to him, he'll include issue #11 as well, which is the one that featuers my gross story.
So get off your hineys and e-mail Rafer to start reading Plastic Farm and collect one of the limited #11 issues with my scandalous story in it! Keword: FREE!

DIY Dancing McPedro doll!
Mike from Madrid has informed me that there's another Dancing Cactus doll on sale on Ebay for those who might be interested in making their own Dancing McPedro doll!
The one Mike made me is AMAZING - you've seen it if you caught me in Birmingham, England last December.
There are only 22 hours left as of now, and I believe they only ship in Europe, but the bid is just $1! Enjoy!

SPX!
Oh, the irony of Hazel calling someone else a drunk.
I hope I'll see you at SPX tomorrow from 2:00 - 6:00 at Rafer Roberts's Plastic Farm table!
I'll be doing $10 sketches and signing books!

Comics NOW!
I should have made this announcement WAY earlier, but better late than never!
If you've heard of Comic Geek Speak, then you may have already heard of their magazine, Comics NOW!
It's basically the ONLY one of the only magazines about comics, for comic fans and by comic fans, other than Wizard (which is hardly for comics these days, I've been told).
Besides reviews and helpful articles, the magazine will be featuring an exclusive Girls With Slingshots strip called Joe Shmoe.
It's a color Sunday strip that focuses solely on Jameson and his coffee shop, and the morning banter between Jamie and Hazel that we don't get to see in the daily strip.
Here's a little sneak preview:
And you get nothing else unless you ask your comic shop today to order the Comics NOW! magazine!
Please help support these guys - they're great people and they're quite possibly the only some of the only competition for Wizard Magazine!

Wild Pig Comics this Saturday!
Who's up for a day trip to northern New Jersey this weekend? Anyone? Anyone?
If you are, why not stop by Wild Pig Comics for their huge 50% off sale?
I'll be there doing $10 sketches and selling/signing copies of Postcards from 10 to 5 on Saturday, October 27.
All Postcards sales will go directly to the DONATIONS DRIVE so that GWS can continue into November.
Speaking of which, since the donations are drying up a bit, I've got a sale of my own going on.
ALL ORIGINAL GWS and BAT BOY STRIPS are now $50 flat, including shipping in the US*, and all proceeds go towards the donations drive to keep GWS going daily.
The prices will be going up from $65 to $75 after this huge sale, so get in on the low prices now while they last!
Check the list to see if the strip you want is still available.
*International and Canada pay the regular $8, which is still a bargain!

Clarice VS Maureen
I dedicate this strip to everyone who can't tell the difference between Clarice and Maureen.

Hey, whaddaya know again! BIG happy strip #1000 to Quesionable Content!! Damn, that's an accomplishment!!
If you like GWS, you'll love QC, in case you haven't been reading it already.
Hope to see y'all up in Jersey tomorrow for $10 sketches at Wild Pig Comics!! Woohoo!!
oct.26.07
Special note!
Due to a CRAZY MESS that erupted Friday, including but not limited to my car once again being out of commission, the new strip will appear TUESDAY, not Monday!
See you this weekend, New Jersey-ers!

High Moon!
Just a quick kudos to my pal David Gallaher, whose beautiful and clever webcomic High Moon comes out today on Zuda!
Here's a little art to give you a taste of the wolfie Western:
Enjoy! And thanks to everyone who came out to Wild Pig this past weekend!
