Eating out. (GWS#225)

Oooh, I'm so bad for letting Scott get away with that. ;)

So believe it or not, I have FINALLY updated the cast page on this site. That's merely one small step for the GWS site, but it's been bio-less (and incomplete) for far, far too long. Enjoy!

PAC PEDRO!!! (GWS#226)

Mike from Madrid (better known as Tanukitsune) has TRULY outdone himself this time!!

That's right, the very creator of all those beloved webcomic animated gifs (of which I still have a few unshared versions I'll present later!) has created Pac Man: The Irish Talking Cactus. Dig it:

This is... this is just... wow. He even says "Ach!" in Mike's very own widdle voice!! GAAAHH!!

Postcards!

One more note: the press release for the anthology I contributed to, Postcards, is out! Read it here!

Postcards will be published by OHMYGOD Random House (!!!), and it's due out June 26. I'm like, the bottom of the barrel when it comes to creators on this book - there are some GREAT names in here! Preorder it today!

SNOW!! (GWS#227)

Hey, y'all! Greetings from snowy West Virginia!

I took this picture just for you guys. Wish you were here!

Twitter is the new MySpace. (GWS#228)

After hearing about it a few times, I decided that Scott Kurtz was right: maybe if I got a Twitter account, I'd be more inclined to WORK because everyone would know what I was (or wasn't) doing.

So here you are: the link to Twitter, and my own Twitter page (handle: dcorsetto).

PS. Hazel's lucky she's a girl. She'd be in the doghouse nine times out of ten if she was a dude.

Interview!

I hadn't done one in awhile: here's David Hopkins talking about Staple - and moi! - over at Pop Syndicate!

feb.14.07

V.D.

It's amazing what being single can do to one's perspective of Valentine's Day.

For instance, the instant and satisfying realization that VD also stands for Venerial Disease.

As promised...

Hey, guys - for those of you following my Twitter page, here are the photos from today!

No captions this time, but if you'd rather see them all on one page (similar to the travelogues), click here.

eBay!

I can't believe I never came up with this before.

I got the wild hair to ditch work for a few hours and draw Jamie and Hazel as Jay and Silent Bob (NOT respectively, of course). Then I got the wild hair to color it! And hen, it ended up on eBay. Happy bidding, y'all!

PS. There's a Buy It Now option on this one for those of you who hate eBay - I understand!

And briefly...

I just found out that Jennie Breeden cameoed Tyler in her Geebas on Parade comic!! Ha!

Free caricatures tonight!

I'm going to be doing caricatures tonight (Saturday) at Red House Tavern in Baltimore, MD from 9:30-11:30 for the Brass Uncle Band's CD release party if anyone's interested! They're free to the public as a "thank you" for showing up, and the band sounds pretty badass if you ask me. Come on out!

Update Wednesday!

Sorry guys - I wimped out, hung out with some old friends, and really REALLY didn't feel like going out into the cold, windy, snowy outdoors to clean off my car and go home tonight. But at least I got an internet connection so I could let you know - I hope that counts for something!

Please don't hate me and check back Wednesday!!

feb.21.07

Woo!

Check me out!! I did two for Wednesday!! See? I'm getting better at this...

feb.23.07

In DC!

Hey guys - sorry for the bouncing updates! I've been out quite a bit the past few days and will continue to have a rocky schedule for another two weeks. Bear with me!

New strip should be up sometime Friday evening/Saturday morning. By the way, don't forget that today is the last day for eBay bids on Hazel and Silent Jamie! Speaking of which, does anybody know why my Buy It Now button went away after the first bid was placed?

feb.24.07

Meh... (GWS#234)

Saturday morning, Saturday evening... same difference.

(Sorry!)

feb.25.07

Early! (GWS#235)

Be sure to check back to Saturday's update if you didn't catch it!

Meanwhile... I woke up to SNOWING LIKE CRAZY this morning, which was totally unexpected! (I'm kind of glad I've ditched the Weather Channel's desktop advisory - way more exciting! Yes, this is my life.)

Turns out the snow was peeeeeeeeeeerfect packing snow, so I went out and played in it after drawing Monday's strip. Found a park bench and here's what I did with it (not amazing, but not bad for someone who generally sucks at sculpture!):

I was originally gonna make a hippie smoking weed and eating hummus to really capture the essence of Shepherdstown, but really, I didn't have the time.

This weekend! (GWS#236)

God, I can't believe I haven't talked about Staple! yet!

Well, really there isn't much to talk about. I didn't get my sketchbooks done in time, so I won't have those yet. But, as always, I'll be doing sketches all day and will have copies of Crazy Papers with me as well! If I have time, I'd like to do a few pin-ups of the characters to sell.

To those of you who know you'll be at Staple!: is there anything in particular you'd like me to bring? Original art? Old stuff I used to sell years ago? Prints of specific pieces? Let me know!

And while I'm on the topic of "Danielle occasionally leaves the state of West Virginia," I'll also be at the 24-hour event at Wild Pig Comics in Kenilworth, New Jersey March 31. There will be a HUGE SUPER MEGA SALE that weekend, and a lot of great artists! If you're in the area you should totally come out.

By the way, besides Hazel, does anybody actually call men "dogs" anymore?
