My birthday wish...
... is that you all won't hate me for uploading the strip later today.
Thanks for holding up!

Webster...
... actually PROBABLY wasn't a virgin, and yes, I know that these aren't the actual definitions Webster.com gives, but I found these somewhere else at a dictionary site.
Ah, well. I ain't perfect!
Thanks for my birthday gift, guys! I appreciate the patience!

Spider Plants
First person who e-mails me to inform me that spider plants make "babies" on their own without pollenation gets a kick in the ass!!

Quickie
Hey, guys... sorry I gypped ya on the strip yesterday, but I wound up spending the day in an airport becuase I missed my flight back (visiting friends for my birthday).
It was the first time I've EVER missed a flight and I kinda paid for it (luckily NOT outta pocket, but out of time).
I'll try to make it up to you guys on Monday, okay? There WILL be a strip up that day!
In the meantime, thanks for being so understanding, y'all!

Public Service Announcement... !
Guess what? If you check a suitcase with your laptop in it at the airport, they WILL go through the entire bag... and then they will REMOVE and
SHAKE the Canon scanner that you've had for the last four years that has NEVER failed on you.
Never, that is, until they give it back to you.
Thus, if the strip seems a little "off" today, it's because I had to photograph each panel with my digital camera, and then carefully distort, resize, and piece them together in Photoshop.
(If this doesn't prove how much I love you people, I don't know what will.)
And to answer the question of all traveling artists reading this post:
American Airlines.
Sorry, I don't get angry often, but I'm not looking forward to hunting down a new scanner tomorrow in between the mess of other responsibilities I have.
Especially since I have more important things to spend my money on, like, say, my rather hefty taxes which need to be sent in very soon.
If I had a LiveJournal, current mood would be
REALLY F*CKING PISSED!!!
apr.03.06
Public Service Announcement Edit
Woops! I was recently informed that American Airlines has nothing to do with the frisky laptop search that knocked my scanner out.
Turns out it's another group - something to do with the actual airport, I think.
So, uh... sorry 'bout that, American!

Everything I HAVEN'T been telling you...
Wow, so there are quite a few things I've been keeping from you guys lately.
Shepherd College Workshop
April 7 from 4:00-6:00 pm
A quick note for those of you who are living in or around Shepherdstown, WV - I've been asked to do a workshop on comic strips and sequential art at
The Entler Hotel (which is where my senior art show was two years ago) this Friday night.
I'll be covering character development, pacing, storytelling, the creation of a comic strip, and how to break into the biz from 4 to 6.
At 6:30 there will also be a show following the workshop with some of my work and LOTS of other people's work.
And immediately after THAT, I'll be driving to New Jersey through the night for the...
24-Hour Comics Challenge... and 50% Off Sale!
April 8 thru 9, 12 noon to 12 noon
This weekend I'll be at
WILD PIG COMICS in Kenilworth, New Jersey participating in the Early Bird Special 24-Hour Comics Challenge!
Yes, we know the
REAL 24-Hour Comics Day is actually October 7th this year (mark your calendars!), but we usually do it a bit closer to the
Pittsburgh Comic Con.
I've been participating in this event every year (although last year I totally gave up and passed out on the couch!) and I can't emphasize enough what a great comic book store it is.
Co-owner
Chris Eberle is a good pal of mine and an all-around good guy.
Wild Pig will be throwing a
huge 50% off sale from April 8, Saturday at noon (when we start our 24-hour challenge) until our challenge is over on Sunday at noon.
In addition to myself, other guest artists participating in the challenge include the infamous
James Hatton of
In His Likeness fame;
mega-talented artist
Bill Ellis who
occasionally puts visuals to Hatton's words (he was also my
booth babe at Baltimore last year);
and a girl named
Jonna (sp?!) who's a talented young art major in New York and was here with us last year.
Pittsburgh Comic Con
April 21 thru 23
As always, I'll be at my FAVORITE convention in
Pittsburgh after Easter weekend.
And
looky here! I'll be at a BIG GIRL BOOTH!
GWS will have its own small press corner booth this year at
S090 at the back of the convention hall near the special guests, and with any luck, there will be some eye-catching decorations in the booth so you won't miss me.
More information to come. :)
Paradise Toronto Comic Con
April 28 thru 30
I'm just going because it sounds like fun, I like a lot of the people who will be there, and above all, it's in freaking
Canada.
In other words, don't look for me (I won't have a booth!), I'll look for you. :)

Quick! Before I'm gone!
First of all, BIG apologies, I had the date wrong for the Shepherd workshop.
It's actually going on
TONIGHT (Friday, April 7 4-6pm) at the
Entler Hotel on German Street in Shepherdstown.
Come out if you wanna learn How To Draw Comic Strips the Danielle Corsetto Way!
Secondly, just a reminder that I'll be at
Wild Pig Comics in Kenilworth, New Jersey this weekend doing a 24-page comic in 24 hours, from noon to noon Saturday through Sunday.
Come out if you wanna watch myself and three other artists draw our brains out (because we WILL be zombies by Sunday), and especially if you wanna buy comics for 50% off at the greatest comic book store in all of the Jers!
Assuming I FINISH a comic this time, the outcome will probably be for sale at the
Pittsburgh Comic Con when I'm there in two weeks. Later!

Updates...
Hey, guys! Here's the word: my new scanner STILL hasn't been delivered (watch, it'll come in first thing tomorrow, I just KNOW it), so I'm without a scanner to bring with me this weekend.
This means that unfortunately I will NOT be sharing my 24-hour comic book with you guys as it unfolds, and additionally I will NOT be able to update GWS Monday.
However, you guys will get the LD on how our 24-hour comic book challenge starts and ends as soon as I get home, as well as the next GWS strip.
Thanks for your patience, wish us luck (the number at Wild Pig Comics is
at their website if you wanna call in and encourage us!), and you'll get yer GWS fix as soon as I'm back.

Jesus!! And other public service announcements.
Blame my Christian upbringing, but posting this comic makes me feel hella guilty unless I openly confess that I've got nothin' but love for the big J.
Son of God or not, he sounds like he was one helluva guy.
So I hope I'm not offending anyone out there.
After all, Jesus does, in fact,
have MySpace friends.
In other news... did you know that if you go three or four years without seeing a dentist, your next teeth cleaning will likely
HURT LIKE HELL??!!
Holy crap, I wasn't expecting what I encountered yesterday at the dentist's office at all.
I've always had perfect teeth. I never even understood why people loathed the dentist, until now.
The hygenist told me that what she was doing was the equivalent of scraping firmly adhered cement from my teeth.
It felt a bit more like she was scraping firmly adhered TEETH from my teeth. OUCH!
So, PLEASE! For the sake of your mouth, floss your effin' teeth!!
apr.14.06
Answering your questions.
So I forgot to give you guys a report on the 24-hour comic challenge that took place last weekend in Jersey.
Well. Um. That's because... I... kinda... didn't do one.
I got about 4 pages in. And then zonked out.
Meanwhile, James Hatton popped out a few pages (I think 4 as well?), Bill Ellis knocked off a few pages of the book he and Hatton are working on, and Jonna (get this!) pushed out like, 13 pages!!
Go Jonna, whose name is most likely being misspelled in this post!
...
Oh wow. I just wiped drool off my desk.
Oookay, obviously 4 am doesn't look good on me, so I'm gonna hop to bed and promise you more information later on, after I've cloesed my eyes for more than a blink. Later!

Confession:
sometimes I only tell you guys stuff so I can refer back to my website for a link.
This is one of those times.
If you're a fan of the comic strips
Zits, For Better Or For Worse, Foxtrot, and
Mutts, you'd do well to attend this small show.
Additionally, Brian K. Vaughn, Harvey Pekar, and a buncha other comics names will be there. This is in DC.
And that's close enough for me, baby.
OH, one more thing! That
Paradise Toronto Con?
I've totally got a booth (THANK YOU, Mr. Ellis!).
So I'll be there, as will McPedro. Oh yes, I said McPedro. You'll understand when you get there.
