ms. breeden
You've seen her ad at the top of this page for almost a year, and now here she is in the fles-- uh, ink & watercolor.
Jennie Breeden of the deservedly popular
The Devil's Panties surprised me with a guest strip -
I was certain she'd be too busy, but she pulled through. I'm totally humbled. Thank you, Jennie!
You're here, so I can eliminate the "If you like GWS... " part of my next comment: You're gonna love
The Devil's Panties.
So make sure you visit. She (miraculously) does the autobio strip DAILY and just hit her 4th year. Congratulations, Ms. Breeden!
Last one comes in tomorrow, and stay tuned for a little guest gift art later.
Back to the ladies of GWS on Thursday... stick around!

Scott Hedlund with our last official strip of the guest week.
Which means GWS returns tomorrow!!
Scott doesn't do a webcomic, but his artwork's fantastic.
Take a look!!

the official Slingshot episode
And thus is born the Slingshot.
To anyone who has asked me why the title of this strip is "Girls With Slingshots" when there has yet to be more than one
slingshot reference, things will start to make a lot more sense from here on out.
And now, a little guest art from the one and only
Russ Harp...
(Click to enlarge!) As always, Russ blindsided me with characters I don't even remember drawing!
Here's another little treat: reader
Greg Thelen put together these GWS wallpapers for anyone itching to add a little GWS to their desktop:
hazel:
1024x768
800x600
jamie:
1024x768
800x600
Thanks, Greg!
In other news, my internet is down and I'm only mooching off friends for the sake up updating this site.
E-mails won't be answered for awhile. Not... that... I was doing such a hot job of replying to begin with....
Also, tomorrow (God willing!) I'll finally bring you a travelogue tracing the trip I just got back from with Val, so check back when you can!
Guest strips will stay up there at the top of the blog for the next week.
After that they'll go away for awhile, and when I get the new site design finished (circa Christmas of this year) you'll be able to get to them via the navigation bars above and below.
Pray for me as I go through the torture of being disconnected from the world for the next 24-48 hours.
And in the meantime, if something catastrophic happens - say, a country blows up, or
Jade finds out she's pregnant - would somebody please call and inform me?
I'll be at home, drawing by candlelight and cooking my dinner over a fire, boiling a pot of water from the Potomac to avoid developing a nasty case of dysentery, oblivious to the world outside.

advil cold & sinus
Yesterday may have been the first time in my life that I actually stayed in bed - ALL DAY - while I was sick.
Yep, stayed in bed as in, left to make some chicken soup, left to use the bathroom and left to take a bath, and that was IT.
Stayed in bed as in watching the sun go from a bright beam under my door in the morning, to a dim haze in my room in the afternoon, to creeping behind the trees in the evening.
And it was all because I wanted to be able to do GWS tonight.
So wish me a little luck getting well again, and enjoy the strip!!

not dead after all
So I'm not dead after all. I did a few hours of caricatures Tuesday night and slept in a bit Wednesday, and now I'm alright save a few hacks, wheezes, and sniffles.
And speaking of dead, big apologies to anyone who's been expecting a reply to their e-mail for... far too long!
I'm getting there. Still a little behind and struggling just to reply to clients alone, so thanks for your continued patience!
AND speaking of e-mails... anyone got any good ideas for
what I should be for Halloween this year?

a meow for help!
WARNING: photos of adorable kitten who needs your help enclosed!!
Attention all cat lovers! My good friend Mike Fogg, an avid GWS reader/collector, needs your help!
His wife just found this adorable kitten on the side of her road, hit by a car.
She'll need major reconstructive surgery to her jaw if she's gonna live; if you're interested in helping to donate money, please click the link above for the address to the vet office she's being kept at.
Any amount will help! Thanks guys!
