Finally, a VALID excuse!

Yeah. I sneezed. I freaking SNEEZED!

Apparently I pulled something when I did this. And yes, I spent the rest of the day in agonizing pain and/or drunk with a heating pad strapped to my back.

I woke up at around noon today, music still blaring, lights still on, and half of the above strip drawn up, apparently while I was intoxicated last night (hey, I couldn't find the Advil, so wine was the next best thing). So I thought I'd share.

A new GWS strip will be up as soon as I can hold myself up for more than half an hour at a time over the drawing table!

Never underestimate the power of a single sneeze. That shit's dangerous!

Announcements... and sale goodies!

Alright, I've been lying on a heating pad all day. Time to do a little work.

For starters, I don't know much about this but I thought it was CERTAINLY worth mentioning:

Six now-former Keenspot artists - Wapsi Square artist extraordinaire Paul Taylor included - have formed a new group called Blank Label Comics and I personally think you should check 'em out. Goes without saying that I'm always up for promoting anything by Paul because, quite frankly, the man rocks my world. :) Congratulations to all of them!

I haven't had much of a chance - back not permitting and all! - to check out the other comics, but I know I've read a few of them before and, naturally, I'm pretty sure they all rule. Go check 'em out!

On the sales side of things, I thought I should bring up that there IS new art for sale now because I FINALLY figured out the PayPal interface (crappy little thing, it is!) and am selling the Arizona sketches for cheap! Go check 'em out if you're interested!

Soon I'm going to put together sale buttons for all of the available original GWS strips as well, so keep your eyes peeled! I'll let you know about it here first, naturally.

Back to GWS!

Philly-bound!

Mornin', boys and girls!

A quick note to let y'all know that my next convention will be this weekend at Wizard World East in Philadelphia. I won't be setting up, but I'll be walking around. 'Course, I need to find a place to STAY at some point, hopefully BEFORE I get there!

All I know so far is that I'll be there :)

Back's good as new (thanks for the love, guys!) and I'll have new work to show you guys soon, too. Stay tooned!

Conventions and comics!

GWS will be up later today, because I found myself glued to the screen when I discovered this webcomic last night, and couldn't pull myself from it.

Not to say that I hadn't heard of this strip before - I had - but I have a feeling I only gave it one quick glance. This is something I suggest you do NOT check out until you have a good hour or two to go through the whole archive (yeah, more like 30 min for the AVERAGE reader - I'm a slowpoke!).

Additionally, you should prepare yourself for some noisy out-loud laughing. It's just... deliciously bizarre. (ps. the title IS deceiving)

As for conventions, here's a quick lineup that I've got for the rest of the year (pending!):

  • jun 3-5 wizard world east, philly pa (just walking around saturday morning!)
  • jun 11-12 mocca, nyc (just walking around sunday!)
  • jun 17-19 big apple convention, nyc (sitting & doing sketches all weekend!)
  • sep 17-18 baltimore comic con, baltimore md (full setup!)
  • sep 23-24 small press expo (spx), bethesda md (just walking around - whole weekend!)

  • I'll be spending the entire week between the MoCCA event and Big Apple (June 12-20, to be exact) in New York because, hey, why should I come home just to go back up a week later, right?

This weekend, however, I'll just be at Philly in the morning on Saturday, as I'll be tackling another caricature gig in Jersey Saturday afternoon/evening. But I'll be tossing out little GWS promo stuff and wearing (fingers crossed!) a hand-made GWS t-shirt. Pics to come!

Alright, you want more, don't you? Here are a few sketches I did for a hot job I didn't get (nuts!) a week or so ago, starring the pop goddess Avril Lavigne. Enjoy!

    Help SAVE McPedro!

Sorry again for the lateness, boys & gals!

So I've got a question for the green thumbs out there. I was wondering if anyone could tell me WHAT'S HAPPENING TO MY CACTUS??!!

Click on the link for an enlarged picture; as for a description, my sweet "pricklay" baby is getting little brown spots on him. I've been watering him once every two weeks as suggested. He was out of direct sunlight for awhile, but I've moved him to a sunnier side of the room now.

    Can anybody help me??

I tell ya. Can't even keep a cactus alive! And people say I'd make a good mom... ??

Alright. I'm heading for Philly tomorrow afternoon, hopefully will be there around 6 or 7 pm, but won't be at the actual convention until 10 or so Saturday morning. I'll be wearing a hand-made GWS shirt! Check it out!

    New interview at Newsarama!

    Hey kids! New interview!

    http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=da6c91203ec024a7eded6079f5be0487&threadid=35127

For the record, McPedro is actually SCOTTISH, as I learned yesterday while looking up Irish slang and realizing that it is NOT what I was looking for! I had no idea - I thought they had the same freaking language! Silly me!
