Arizona-bound
So in other news, guess what I'll be doing next weekend. Taking a completely random, unnecessary and almost unaffordable trip to Arizona to visit my friend Val!!

This means a couple of things for you faithful readers: One, Tuesday's strip for May 10th may be either a late or early strip, unless I can find a pal to fill in for me. And two, unless the entire weekend is spent doing NOTHING, I should have new artwork from my trip up for sale when I get back!

On that note, I'm looking into setting up an easy PayPal service with a shopping cart and everything just for you guys to use so that, if you'd like something I have for sale, you can just buy it without having to wait around for my lazy artist butt to e-mail you back (Bottoms Up folks, you'll be getting your invoices today, Monday! Nice segue, huh?). If anyone knows a thing or two about setting up a PayPal page, please feel free to uh... help me!!

New strip tomorrow - see you then!!

By far...

... the finest stick people strip ever.

This is awesome. Among GWS's biggest fans, I give you Adam Zimmerli with our guest strip of the day! Adam, sorry I didn't send you a heads-up that I got this - thank you very much for the best stick people drawing I've ever seen in my life!

New strip will be up later today, folks - thanks for holding!

#50!

And after much ado, here's strip #50.

Anyone who purchased Bottoms Up books through PayPal, your books are in the mail!

Sorry I have nothing else to say - I've been working all day and my butt's numb. And that's all I can think about right now.

Zzzzzzz.......

A trip to Catholic University of America later, I'm spent.

I did caricatures at the University today and it wound up being a full work day. 3 hours of caricatures (with some GREAT college students on break for finals) plus several hours of driving made for my first 9-5 day in a long time!

More later... I'm ready for some shut-eye.

Yee-haw!

I'm Arizona-bound!

Sorry, loyal readers, but I've been swamped, so next week's GWS strip will come to you in a double dose on Thursday. Here's a glimpse of one of the other projects I've been working on, though!

More on that as/if it flies! And although I can't bring you a GWS strip on Tuesday, I'll post everything I bring home from Arizona as soon as I get back!

See ya in a week!!

HOME!

Alright, loyal readers - I'm home from Arizona!

I think that was the first REAL vacation I've ever been on in my entire life. Ditched the cell phone, the laptop, all other connections to the outside world, and spent some quality time with my friend Val, the chick from Ramblers.

Among other things, we went to the Gran Mercado in Phoenix, hit a real Western bar, crashed a cincinero (sp?), climbed to the top of Vulture Peak, had a barbecue, went horseback riding, made a campfire, roasted marshmallows, and camped out under the stars. It was AWESOME.

All that and more (aka. your weekly fix of GWS strips!) Thursday - first strip should be up by early afternoon, second strip in late evening, and hopefully I'll have the Arizona wrap-up travelogue together by Friday.

Stay tooned!

may.12.05

Yay!

Here's Tuesday's strip, and today's strip will come later tonight. Stick around!

may.13.05

And...

... here's Thursday's strip. See? I'm getting back to real life, slowly!

More on Arizona soon!

Kool-Aid and Arizona.
So nobody gets Jamie's T-shirt. *sigh* I'm afraid I'm among the eight people in the universe who use the phrase "Get offa my Kool-Aid." Allow me to explain.

It's kinda like... okay, there's a guy hitting on a girl at a bar. Some other guy comes up and tries to buy her a drink. No matter how unlikely it was that the girl was found anything attractive or interesting about guy #1, guy #1 is permitted to say (though it's tactless) "Yo, get offa my Kool-Aid" to guy #2.

This will most likely make guy #2 more appealing to the now objectified woman, but guy #1 obviously has no sense.

So, *ahem.* That's what the T-shirt means. Jamie's single and she ain't nobody's Kool-Aid.

We'll re-examine this phrase again in the future. For now, enjoy some Arizona!
