GWS's first GUEST STRIP!

What?? What just happened to our GWS??

I'll tell ya what happened. GWS creator danielle corsetto just got back from Jersey - as in, JUST got back from Jersey - is exhausted, and has a lot of work to do for this weekend's Pittsburgh Comic-Con. Additionally, corsetto returned to find an e-mail from the ever-so-talented Bill Ellis of the short-lived but fabulous webcomic "Nowhere Fast," with GWS guest strips attached, and a note that stated "Take the week off on me."

Well, I'm not taking off the ENTIRE week, but for today and tomorrow (that's right - Tuesday and Wednesday), enjoy a trip into the GWS alternate universe, on Bill.

If you'd like to e-mail Bill and state the obvious (that he kicks ass), feel free to e-mail him at... well, actually e-mail ME (with a "Dear Bill" in the subject) until I get his OK on that first!

Oh, and the 24 Hour Comics report! I nearly forgot!

Jamie, Jimmy and our new pal Janna (pronounced "Jonna") kicked comic butt and produced three separate, lovely 24-page comics in 24 hours. And myself? I started a story, got to page 3 and decided to start over... got to page 4 of another story, and decided to sleep, heavily, on the couch in the back. Yep. I totally pussed out. The first story I started is one that I'd like to dedicate more time to. And the second story? I'm going to try to have it done by Pittsburgh anyway. It'll be a 24 Hours Stretched Over the Span of a Week Comic.

Speaking of which, I'm shaping up to have a lot of neat stuff on my table. If all goes well, I'll have a plenty of original art for sale, as well as a few small-run books. More on that as it takes shape!

Oh, and if Jamie, Jimmy or Janna post their stories online, I'll be sure to link 'em from here for you. You'll see them. As well as mine, if I finish it!

Now for some of that sleep I wanted to catch... (and remember to check back tomorrow for more Bill goodness!)

Shaky hands
Unfortunately, a bout of sleeplessness in preparation for Pittsburgh this weekend has left me shaky and I can't ink the pencils on my strip tonight. I will wake up as early as I can to wrap this sucker up, but for now, I'm not going to half-ass a comic when I could get a few hours' rest and wake up ready to treat it right.

So please check back in the early afternoon today for the new strip!

Meanwhile... what the F is that drawing in its place??

Why, it's one of the many sketches that will be featured in the mini-book I'm putting together for this weekend's convention. I'll only be doing a small run of drawings from my little red sketchbook, focusing on bar, diner, and other eatery sketches, so get 'em while they're hot! (And while they're still available, for that matter!)

I've had several e-mails from people interested in buying original GWS strips (thank you!! THANK YOU!!) and therefore interested in keeping me alive and able to afford rent. If you are one of these blessed and beautiful people - or if you're interested, but haven't e-mailed me yet - and you have a particular strip in mind, please let me know which number it is either by e-mailing me or calling me on my cell phone and I'll gladly put a "SOLD!" sticker on that original and keep it for you. (Serious buyers only, please.)

In the meantime, I STILL have one free ticket to Pitts for anyone willing to help watch the booth for me! Just reminding you gently... :)

I might have to put the sculptures on hold after all, it seems, but the banner should be finished by tomorrow, as should the booklets and a bunch of other little things to sell. And as always, I'll be doing commissions (color upon request, even - ooooo!). If you couldn't make it to Pittsburgh this year, I urge you to look into it next year - it's a great convention with a spectacular guest list and a huge audience.

So it looks like the statues are off, as I've only got about 3 more hours before I have to leave, but the rest of the stuff will be there. And for those of you who won't be at Pittsburgh but are interested in purchasing originals and/or books from me, shoot me an e-mail and I'll get the postage, etc. worked out so you can partake in the goodies, too! The mini-books are gonna be about 20 pages of quality prints on nice paper, with about 16 sketches, and are $5 apiece.

Again, if you have a specific strip in mind which you would like to buy the originals from, please please let me know as soon as you can so that I can reserve it for you! (Jeff, #15 is all yours, good buddy!)

Welcome, new readers!
Thanks for your patience, guys. I'm afraid I had a little too much R&R time yesterday and got absolutely NOTHING accomplished!

I'm back from a long weekend in Pittsburgh enjoying their Comic Con, my favorite convention of all time. I met some great people and did a lot of sketches - I'll be posting those, along with photos of the con, sometime later today.

I actually spent so much time behind my table this year that I didn't have a chance to walk around the Expomart at ALL! So to anyone I promised to visit, my apologies. It wasn't because you suck or I really don't like you. It was because I needed to make rent.

And speaking of which, big thanks to anyone who bought stuff from me (that means YOU, Mr. Regina)! Thanks to you, my landlord won't be kicking me out this month.

Oh, and the chick on crutches whose dad picked up a McPedro original - hope you heal up fast!

If anyone's interested in purchasing a "Bottoms Up" book - the little collection of drink-themed sketches I put together for the show - I still have about ten left at $5 a pop (plus postage if I need to send it to you). Let me know if you're interested!

By the way, thanks to everyone who's reading this - y'all have set a new record. I don't know what's going on, but my hits per day have been increasing by leaps and bounds. Yesterday marked a record high of 6,309 hits on this page alone! So WELCOME, NEW READERS and thanks to everyone who's been passing the URL around (Mr. Hatton, you little devil!). I hope my lack of punctuality today doesn't scare you off forever!

Wow, um... you guys REALLY like the idea of that "Bottoms Up" book, dontchya?? I woke up to an inbox full of requests!

Tell ya what. Gimme a little time and I'll make up even more of them. If I don't respond to you today - I'm busy as heck today! - be patient with me. I'd like to give 'em to everybody who's requesting them. They're kinda kick-ass little books, after all :)

In fact, if I get a chance to, I'd like to insert something I forgot to put in before I sold them; a few of my fave drink recipes. So you'll be getting the upgrade if you buy one now!
